Wow,
That's about all we could say when we got home from market saturday afternoon. We knew the storm was pretty bad friday night, but never thought is was this intense, we made through all the spring storms with no issues. Friday night we lost completely the 20'x100' greenhouse and the 28'x 50' has been badly damaged.
The larger house was full of tomatoes and peppers that should be ready within the next week or two. The smaller house was just replanted last week, so not much produce damage there. I think the tomatoes will make it for a while outside, but the close spacing of the greenhouse will not be ideal for the element outdoors.
Outdoors we had lots of wind damaged plants, time will tell how well things recover. Broccoli, sweet corn and head lettuce seem to be the worst off, we had 500' of pole bean trellising wiped out, but salvageable I beleive.
It's amazing, just when you think youv'e got things under control Mother nature reminds you who's in charge. The upside is no one was around the farm to be injured and all things are replaceable. Still hard to see all that hard work, time, energy and money gone in less than 5 minutes.
