West Lafayette Market

7/13/2009 12:35pm by Nathan Parks

We are happy to announce that we're going to be attending the West Lafayette farmers market on Wednesday afternoons at Cumberland Park from 3-6:30.  For the time being, we will no longer be vending at the Purdue market on Thursday afternoons.

Another round of heavy rain and wind hit the farm on Saturday afternoon!  3 inches of rain fell in about two hours!  Much to our dismay, the sweet corn was blown over by the brunt of the storm.  Hopefully it will revive itself and be ready for harvest in about 2 more weeks.  Our 250 tomato plants partially damaged by the collapse of our 100ft greenhouse in the last storm are still alive and producing!  We are thankful for that.  Everything else is in full swing!

We do have chickens available for sale at both markets or for pickup at the farm.  They are available frozen in whole, whole pre-cut, boneless skinless breasts, thighs, drumsticks, wings, backs/necks, gizzards, hearts, and livers.
Pricing is as follows (per pound):

Whole:                                  $3.75
Whole pre-cut:                        $4.00
Boneless, skinless breasts:        $8.25
Thighs:                                 $5.25
Drumsticks:                           $5.25
Wings:                                  $3.75
Backs/Necks:                         $2.00
Gizzards:                               $2.00
Hearts:                                 $2.00
Livers:                                  $2.00

Thanks for all the support.
Have a great week!
Nate and Emily

We picked up a chicken to try and it passed the test with flying colors. How do we go about etting more?? Is it best to put an order in and pick up at the market or farm? We do have freezer space . How long into the Fall can we get Chickens? If we get a dozen or more do you take a check? Thanks, Bonnie Robertson
